PROJECT OVERVIEW:
This project involves the creation of a full brand identity and immersive exhibition for TOKENS, an alternative rock band. Designed as a graduation project, it features a complete visual system including a logo, merchandise, business cards, and a website culminating in an interactive gallery installation that replicates the experience of a concert merchandise stand. The exhibit is designed to reflect the band’s bold, emotional, and edgy persona while creating a tangible, real world encounter with the brand.
DESIGN OBJECTIVES:
Immersive Brand Experience - Transform a traditional gallery space into a concert like environment using a gate style barrier to hang merchandise and simulate a merch line. This helps immerse visitors in the band’s world and mimics the feel of a live music event.
Authentic Presentation - Use binder clips to hang posters, vinyls, and additional band artwork on the gate, capturing the raw, DIY feel often found at concerts. A large banner of the band members is placed above the stand to anchor the experience visually.
Functional Display - A merch table is positioned in front of the setup, acting as a point of sale station and housing business cards for both the band and designer, QR codes to the band and graphic designer's respective Instagram accounts, and stickers as take home souvenirs. A teaser poster for the band’s upcoming song adds a promotional touch.
Visual Consistency - All elements from the apparel to the printed materials follow the established branding guidelines of TOKENS, utilizing a dark, gritty palette accented with vibrant colors to reflect the band’s emotional depth and energetic sound.
Symbolic Storytelling - Each design piece connects to the band’s identity, with visual elements inspired by their music, lyrics, and the individual personalities of the members, creating a layered and meaningful experience.
OUTCOME:
The final exhibition is a fully immersive branding installation that successfully merges music, design, and space. Visitors are not only introduced to TOKENS’ visual identity but are also invited into a tactile, authentic experience that mirrors the atmosphere of a real concert. The combination of emotional design, interactive components, and cohesive branding results in a powerful presentation that leaves a lasting impression.
